Minutes GCC Executive March 11th 2009

Previous minutes were presented and passed.

President's Report
Rebuilding Yarra Valley website set up by Boni.
Stephen Golding of Business in Gungahlin requested for organisation to be involved in GCC. Request will be followed up.
Simon Corbell replied to the proposal for Community Solar Farm and meeting to be arranged
Department of Environment would like to be notified of any events with respect to sustainability
FOI request on Airport Plan lodged - waiting for reply
Airport consultative meeting to be held on Tuesday 17th March 7pm
Elton consulting wish to consult on Tuesday 17th March 7:30pm

Treasurer Report
The Treasurers report was tabled.  
Receivables at $5150 - of these $1475 long term (because of wrong of bank account)
Balance sheet equity of of $37623 with an increase of $2800 - unlodged accounts receivable likely to be $5500.

Hall Report
DHCS wishes to use Palmerston Hall as an evacuation centre.
Graffitti cleaned.

Gunsmoke Report
Expected to go to printers 17th

General Meeting minutes

Present Alan Kerlin, Kevin Cox, Alan Kerlin, , Alastair Coe, Barry Dee, Eleanor Bates, Estelle Sydney-Smith, David Cumbers

Discussion on:
Rumour of possible removal of Scout Hall
Concern over development on Gundaroo Drive  / Swain Street  because 57 single units in the same buildings.

Alistair Coe reported: 
Legislative Assembly more dynamic place
More work on committees
New buildings on Burnie Court
Need variety in block sizes and types of dwellings

General Business:
Barry Dee pointed out that 2013 would be 20th anniversary of Gungahlin and it would be good to coordinate with the centenary of Canberra. It was recommended that a sub committee be formed to start to plan for the 20th anniversary
Burgmann College has opened a primary school in Forde and it was recommended that the traditional library gift of $100 towards books be made by the council - agreed.
Eleanor Bates recommended that the GCC meetings had more non-planning issues and speakers in its meetings.
