Learn, Empower and Educate

Would you like to learn about health issues affecting seniors in your local area?

If you’re aged over 50 years then volunteering to become a peer educator is a great opportunity to learn about current health topics, meet new people, gain new skills while trying something new, having fun and putting back into the community.

Council on the Ageing (ACT) (COTA (ACT)) is currently recruiting Peer Educator volunteers.  Once you have been trained you will be equipped to run interesting, informative and interactive sessions to social and community groups in your area.

The aim of our program is to maximise the participant’s wellbeing while increasing their awareness of services and support available in our community.  This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the volunteering community.

Would you like to book one of our Peer Educators for your club or social group?  Our topics include preventing falls, quality use of medicines, depression and lifestyle factors that can improve your health.

To request an information pack on becoming a Peer Educator, or to book a session please contact Christine Spicer on 02 6282 3777 or e-mail cspicer@cota-act.org.au.  For further information on COTA and the Peer Education Program please see www.cota-act.org.au
