The new ‘ACT Home Safety Kit' is designed to provide people with information on a range of home safety issues including protecting your property against burglary, performing a do-it-yourself home safety audit, when to call an ambulance and how to prepare for storms, house fires and bushfires,

The Home Safety Kit has been jointly developed by the ACT Emergency Services Agency, ACT Policing, ACT Department of Justice and Community Safety, ACTEW AGL, SupportLink Australia and is supported by major sponsor NRMA Insurance.

It will be distributed throughout the community by SupportLink, based on referrals from local emergency services.

SupportLink is a locally based not-for-profit organisation which works alongside emergency services to link families and individuals to a range of support services available here in the ACT.

The home safety kit is available by calling the home safety program on 61039084 or can be downloaded from http://www.homesafety.act.gov.au/
