Gungahlin residents are reminded to register for the upcoming Second-hand Sunday on 15 February 2009.
Second-hand Sunday is a popular community activity that encourages households to clean out useful goods from the home and garage and pick up items that someone else no longer wants. Unwanted goods such as furniture, timber, clothes, books, tools and sporting equipment can be recycled and used by others in the community.
To take part need to register online at www.tams.act.gov.au/secondhandsunday before 5pm on Wednesday 11 February 2009.
A list of registered households and a summary of goods on offer will be available online at www.tams.act.gov.au/secondhandsunday and in printed form at ACT Government shopfronts and libraries from Friday 13 February 2009.
On the day of the event, participants place useable items at the front of their home for other people to collect. At the end of the event, any items not collected are the reponsibility of the resident.
