There are substantial rebates available to ACT residents who install rain water tanks - unless you happen to be moving into one of the new suburbs like Harrison, Franklin and Forde. These suburbs all have mandatory minimum tanks sizes - 4500 litres in Harrison.
But what if you put in a bigger tank - do you get a subsidy on the surplus? Nope. And according to the Chief Minister's Departmental response to this article, they don't care if you do or not. Which just seems to lock in the minimum as a maximum, as I predicted in this article.
This really is not good enough Mr Stanhope. You spend a lot of time and money trying to get people to do the right thing with sustainable housing, but at the same time do nothing to help people who are trying to do all that and more.
