After much effort from GCC to get the plans for the town centre park improved, work has commenced.
 
We haven't got everything we wanted, and it's fair to say that some of us in the GCC are not happy with the revised plans. We are also not happy with the flat rejection by the LDA of the community's wish for a local design competition, as expressed very strongly through our community survey.
 
But we have won some important improvements, over the original plans. Read more about the changes we have won in this related article.

I did discuss these improvements we have gained with the Chronicle, but they didn't get included in this article.
