During our November meeting, representatives of ACTPLA presented their draft designs for Flemington Road. This was specifically for the section between the north end of Mitchell and Harrison 1 - the area where Flemington Road turns towards the west.

The concept is for the road to be something akin to a scaled down version of Northbourne Avenue. One really important aspect is that there is a dual-lane light rail corridor preserved down the centre!

Here are some indicative cross sections, with the four-storey section showing development around key intersections such as at Nullabor Avenue, and the three-storey section being more typical of mid-block.

A key point we made at the meeting was that development along the strip should be characterised by separate apartment complexes rather than continuous terrace housing, which the consultant seemed to be indicating was planned.
