Confirmed in the 2007-08 budget figures was the allocation of $3.75 million to build the new sports fields at Harrison, next to the under-construction Harrison Preschool-10 School.

This is great news for the Gungahlin area, as we have a chronic undersupply of sporting fields.

However, sources inform us that the drought conditions have led to this project likely having a very late start in the fiscal year. It would be a great shame if the new school opens its doors in February 2008 without any playing fields in place.
