The options available for excellent and diverse dining in Gungahlin increase every month. Recently a new Thai restaurant called 'Little Siam' opened its doors, and I can say from personal experience that the cuisine is superb. Little Siam also offers home delivery, something of a rarity in Gungahlin.
Last weekend my family sampled Tom Yum soup, 'Crying Tiger' beef, Chilli Octopus, Pud Thai and steamed Jasmine rice all for under $60.
When the only conversations over dinner are appreciative 'Mms' and the occasional 'Try this', you know you have found a special restaurant. In Sydney the ultimate praise that can be lavished upon a Thai Restaurant is: 'It's nearly as good as Tum Tum Thai'
Well Gungahlin is in luck, because Little Siam is better!
The chef at this new restaurant is a master (imported from Thailand by restaurateur Quan Rusk-Tieu). Every dish was exquisite. The Crying Tiger Beef was thinly sliced 'New York Rare' with a separate chilli dipping sauce so each diner could select their desired level of heat. The Chilli Octopus sauce was so divine we had it again the following night with the left over rice.
Little Siam is the beginning of Northern Suburbs Revolution. Why pay $35 for an average Main course in Manuka, Kingston or Civic when you can enjoy 5 Star Food for only $15 per dish in Gungahlin?
Please don't take my word for it. If you have not yet received a menu, contact Little Siam on (02) 6162 1502 and demand one! After one home delivery you will want to work your way through the entire menu.
My only concern is that when Gungahlin realises what is available, the hoards of people that descend upon McDonald's and KFC on a Friday night will now inundate Little Siam and I will have to wait until 9:00pm for my Crying Tiger!
