The ABC is reporting that the Belconnen Way intersection with the Gungahlin Drive will start opening from Tuesday 13 November.

Just what "start opening" means is unclear though.

Southbound Gungahlin commuters will no doubt be pleased to be able to avoid the detour via Clunies Ross Drive, not to mention the hazardous merge at Belconnen Way.

The last stage of the GDE - the Glenloch interchange - is still due for completion by June 2008.
